My Halloween Cat.

We have one extra that I have been ripping pages out of to share among the kiddos without books, but it would be awesome to have these for each kid so we can compare their work from the beginning of the year to the end. If you think you may not have purchased one please check out Office Depot, Office Max, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, King Soopers or Target to find one.

Examples of the different covers you may find.

Japanese Preschool Tea Ceremony

Last Thursday was the end of our Japanese theme unit and to celebrate the whole school participated in a lot of fun activities!

Students created three different crafts based on Japanese culture. They practiced picking things up with chopsticks and read traditional stories.

Finally we all got to sit down, take our shoes off and enjoy some Asian inspired snacks. The first course was Ramen Noodles that many enjoyed while others just tried a couple bites. We then sampled steamed rice, mandarin oranges and egg rolls. For desert we snacked on dessert versions of sashimi, spicy tuna rolls, and Philadelphia rolls.

The party was a great way to end the week and the kids had a great time experiencing Japan's unique culture first hand!

We have been trying hard to get homework packets sent home every Wednesday, but unfortunately that is not always the case. Last week I sent home a big packet for review of what we talked about in September. Please review the sight words with your kiddos as we are continuing to add more from the list I sent home every week. They are doing amazing with them, and I have been surprised at how fast they have taken to reading!

Afternoon Adventure Club Off to a Great Start!
