Back to School Shopping!

The supply list for school has been posted on the Preschool's website. I for one have to admit, I LOVE back to school shopping! The smell of fresh crayons and new binders makes me pretty excited! I guess that's one reason I got into teaching, new supplies every year! Yippee!! Anyway check out the list of essentials below:

The 2012-2013 All Precious Children supply list:
  • 1 Water Bottle, labeled (to be kept at school)
  • 1 Backpack, labeled
  • 1 Paint Smock, labeled (old button-up will do)
  • 1 Pencil Supply Box, labeled
  • 3 Pocket Folders, labeled
  • 1 Ream of Copy Paper
  • 2 Packs of Crayola Classic Markers, labeled
  • 1 Set of Watercolors
  • 8 Glue Sticks (Elmer’s Disappearing Purple School Sticks)
  • 4 Rolls of Paper Towels
  • 1 Pack of Lysol Disinfectant Wipes
  • 1 box Ziploc baggies (Large, 1 gallon)
  • 1 Pair of Blunt-tipped scissors
  • 4 Dry erase markers, thin and black
  • 1 Change of Clothing, including socks and shoes, labeled (to be kept at school).
  • Primary Composition Book/Journal
  • Composition Journal
  • $25 Yearbook Fee (optional)
This year we are doing a professional end of the year bound and printed "Yearbook" for any student who would like one. The $25.00 optional fee pays for the yearbook. I think these yearbooks are going to be a real treasure to hold on to as the kiddos get older!

Good luck with all of your back to school shopping, I know not everyone gets as excited as I do but hopefully your experiences will go ok. Make sure to leave a comment if you find any great deals on the supplies that the other parents may need to know about!!

Future APC Gymnasts

Today kicked off the second week of our APC Summer Olympics program. This week is dedicated to one of my favorite summer Olympic sports, Gymnastics. We talked about the different events and all of the practice that these amazing athletes have to put in to make it to the Olympics.
Madison using her coloring sheet to create one American and one Russian Gymnast

Then the kids created and decorated their own dancing ribbons so that we could have a whole school "floor routine" dance party! The dance party was a huge success and everyone showed off some serious dance moves!

Some of the teachers even got in on the action. We ended the day by practicing tumbling, log rolls and cart-wheels down the hill. All in all, it was a great day to be an APC Olympian! Can't wait to see how they handle the balance beam tomorrow!!

Seeing all of these gymnasts in action today got me pretty excited for Mr. Joe's gymnastics class to resume this fall. Mr. Joe comes every Wednesday and does a great gymnastics class right at the school! If you haven't signed up before definitely look into it for the upcoming academic year.

First Day of Summer Olympics

What a great day for starting our awesome summer program. We had fourteen kids ready to learn all about the Summer Olympics and the Opening Ceremonies. We had a great time creating Olympic torches and learning all about relay races.

The kids took turns running from "country" to "country" passing off the torch while cheering each other on.We discussed the value of teamwork and friendship and everyone seemed to have a great time.

It was so great to see everyone again and I can't wait to see what other happy faces I get to see tomorrow!

Save Some Time at Summer Program Drop-off

Are you coming to the summer program?

Save yourself some hassle during your first drop off by printing your emergency contact sheet at home! Fill it out and drop it off with your child on their first day. You only have to fill it out once, but we do need one for each child! Don 't forget to apply sunscreen before dropping off the kiddos.

Can't wait for the games to begin!

APC Summer Olympics

I am so looking forward to seeing all of my favorite little people tomorrow!! Ms. Steph, Ms. Shauna, Ms. Heather, Ms. Dawn, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Pam and I have been working hard on the classrooms and it will be fun to show off our hard work! The summer program will be running July - August, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-12. It is only $15 per day and a one time snack donation or fee of $10. We are also offering an awesome dance class taught by Kinderdance on Thursdays. I can't wait to see everyone and start getting back into "school mode!"

2012 Graduation

This past year has been a wonderful experience and celebrating with a beautiful graduation ceremony was the perfect way to end it! Saying goodbye to the kids was such a bittersweet feeling. I know that they will do great in the years to come and grow into beautiful, caring, knowledgeable young adults. It was so great seeing them up there in their miniature caps and gowns.

Class of 2012! Throwing the caps into the air!
Congratulations Class of 2012!

One last goodbye picture with the graduates.
